This blog is a chronicle of my professional and intellectual development. Lighting and rendering for computer graphics, productivity, and leading an extraordinary career on forty hours a week. To talk about lighting and rendering computer graphics, new techniques I am learning, problems I am encountering, ideas I am tossing around, tricks I will hopefully develop.

I will probably talk about the work I’m doing on my car. Because it’s also work, because it’s fun, because it’s an intellectual challenge with a physical component we don’t get in CG.

I will talk about how I am working to be more productive in less time, how to quantify my output, how to practice deep focus.

This blog won’t feature information about politics, my personal life, or the endless parade of really cool things to be found on the web. This is a journal of my development as a person who does work.
